| A detached country house, with a splendid view over Val di Catania, the volcano the Etna, the Lake of Lentini and the sea. The house is built on a 6000m2 property with olive and orange trees, 300m high and in a hilly landscape. It has a big driveway, private swimming pool and a big terrace. The house is located on a higher level as the driveway and the swimming pool (and accessabile by stairs) and because of this location it has a wonderful view. The swimming pool is located a little below the house with also a spectaculair view at the surrounding territory. The sea is within 10km.
Sicily is the biggest island, situated in the Mediterranean Sea. By its strategic location, between the Street of Gibraltar and the Middle East, Sicily was an attraction for various nations. There are still evidence visible from that time, like the Greek temple among others Agrigento, the Roman villa in Piazza Armerina, the Arabic springs and the Normandy cathedrals among others, Palermo.
The landscape of Sicily consist namely of mountains and hills. In the north of the island, lies the famous mountain chains: Peloritani, Nebrodi and Madonie which stretches from the east to the west side of the island. In the northeast lies the biggest (approx. 3300m high) and most active volcano of Europe, the Etna.
The Etna is also called "Mongibello" (beautiful mountain). The Sicilians have much respect for this volcano and a famous expression here is: It takes lives, but it gives life as well (Lava ensures for a fertile ground). The coasts in the northeast of Sicily are partly flat and partly steep, which gives an excellent variation in the landscape. The south against that is preponderant flat and in combination with the sun, this gives it a pitcuresque planes.
